By Matt Heinz, President of Heinz Marketing
“How I Work” is one of my favorite recurring features in Inc Magazine as well as via Lifehacker’s This Is How I Work Series, and recently several sales experts (including Anthony Iannarino, Dave Brock and Trish Bertuzzi) participated as well.
Periodically moving forward we will feature a new B2B sales, marketing or business leader here answering what have become the standard “How I Work” questions. You can catch up on everyone we’ve featured thus far in the “How I Work” series here.
This week I’m thrilled to feature Kristine Steuart, CEO and co-founder of Allocadia, a marketing operations platform that helps B2B marketers worldwide improve their ROI and act like profit centers. Prior to Allocadia, Kristine ran Resonance Marketing after years of experience managing marketing for Business Objects, Crystal Decisions and more.
Speaking of Allocadia, please register for a webinar I’m co-presenting with Allocadia’s director of customer & marketing insights Sam Melnick focused on a marketing maturity model that your organization can use to further explain marketing’s direct, measurable impact on revenue and profitability.
In the meantime, more on how Kristine gets stuff done here…

What apps/software/tools can’t you live without? Slack, Salesforce, Box, FaceTime (essential with kids/travel), Evernote, email of course!
What’s your workspace like? Clean and open. A clean space helps me have a clear mind! And our open office concept means I am constantly interacting with the team at Allocadia. I have some “interesting” art from my mom that has followed me to multiple Allocadia offices as the company has grown, that I can’t seem to part ways with now.
What’s your best time-saving shortcut or lifehack? I get my greens from juicing, I’m really bad at eating greens, so I know I had to improve this!
What everyday thing are you better at than anybody else? Seeing something from idea to execution. Having the creativity to come with a new idea or approach, and then having a bias for action to bring it to life and make it happen. I try to encourage other people to do this.
What’s your favorite to-do list manager? Evernote to sync on devices, I am a big fan of writing things down. OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) across our teams, with a key goal being collaboration on company initiatives.
What do you listen to while at work? My team and customers!! 🙂 But I listen to a lot of music at home before bed, it’s my way to give a break to my busy mind, or dancing with the kids. All different types of music.
What are you currently reading? Turn The Ship Around by David Marquet. I really relate to the leadership philosophy and I like that it was based on a real-world story.
What’s your sleep routine like? I get lots of sleep! To bed 10pm latest and up at 6:30am.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received? In business: Build a company that people – team members, customers, partners, investors, etc. – want to be a part of. Personal: Make everyday good, and the end result is a good life.
Anything else you want to add? Thank-you for doing the How I work series, it was fun.
Fill in the Blank: I’d love to see BLANK answer these questions. Today: My twin sister and co-founder Katherine Berry! One day: My daughter and son.
