How often are you spending time working on things for the company, and how often are you working on things directly for your customer?
Company activities can include staff meetings, completing status reports, managing internal bureaucracy, etc.
Customer activities include building products, providing services, writing content, etc.
Some jobs, of course, are completely internally focused. But the company’s IT staff still has a customer. It’s you.

Go back into your calendar for this month and look at where you spend your day. If you had to score customer-focused time as +1 per hour, and company-focused time as -1 per hour, would your score be positive or negative?
