Congrats to our latest winner of the Heinzie, Nicole Williams. As has been documented here a few times before, the Heinzie is awarded to an employee who best exemplifies our core values. We then ask the current recipient to take some photos of the Heinzie with them on an average or interesting day.
I’m not sure which of those scenarios applied for Nicole. Apparently she was either running with the Heinzie before down or in some abandoned local copper mines. But all was made better later that day with one of her favorite vintage cocktails: The Scofflaw.
And (in her words) since “sharing is caring” here’s how you can make/craft one at home:
1 1/2 oz. rye whiskey
1 oz. dry vermouth
3/4 oz. fresh lemon juice
3/4 oz. grenadine
Combine all ingredients with ice and shake. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a lemon twist.
